Welcome to the 2021 OSSAA 5A/6A East Oklahoma Speech and Debate Regional!

Only those schools who have been assigned to the east region in classes 5A and 6A  are eligible to register and participate.

Entries must be added by 5:00 pm, March 2 to both websites, tabroom.com AND the OSSAASpeech website-http://www.ossaaspeech.com/MemberLogin.aspx . Judges may be entered until Monday, March 22 at 5:oo pm. Video links are due by Tuesday, March 23.

Judges: 

You will need.....

1 judge for every 5 non-debate entries (or portion thereof), available to judge ASYNC rounds on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday AND/OR LIVE extemp rounds on Friday, March 26

1 judge for each policy debate team, available to judge on Saturday, March 27

1 judge for every 2 entries in Lincoln-Douglas debate (or portion thereof), available to judge on Saturday, March 27

and 1 judge for every 2 entries in public forum debate (of portion thereof), available to judge on Saturday, March 27

Judges can count in more than one category, ASYNC, extemp, or debate.  Be sure to give detailed notes about judge availability and strengths when you enter them on tabroom.

You can combine partial judges to fulfill requirements. 

Coaches need to register to judge also. Coaches are expected to be available throughout the tournament, and will be expected to judge.

Video Links: The deadline for video links is Monday, March 22 by 5:00 P.M. Coaches, it is your responsibility to make sure your links open for the judges.  Please double check settings.  Entries with links that don't open will be dropped and drop fees will be assessed.

Drops: If you have drops after entering, please contact mplunkett@ossaa.com and jennifer.denslow@oologah.k12.ok.us Please make drops as soon as you are aware of changes. Changes after 5:00 p.m. on the Monday of regionals week will incur drop fees. Please consult the OSSAA manual for the fees, which get larger the later the drops are made.

Reminders

1. Judges should plan to be the official timekeeper(s). Please do not ask contestants or audience members to do so. (Judges in extemp: if you are keeping time, please make sure the students understand how you are keeping time and make sure you give clear signals).

2. Please be sure to have prepared copies of scripts and oratories (highlighted with original introductions, transitions, and conclusions typed). The script must be available if any protest is filed.

3. Please make sure your judges are familiar with the most current rules.

4. All questions and protests should be directed to the tournament director.

Every prelim round will have 2 judges

Wednesday, March 24  

ASYNC prelim rounds released at 8:00 AM, Due Back Thursday at 10:00 PM

Thursday, March 25 

ASYNC prelim rounds continue. 

If a judge has not started their ballot by 7:30 PM, they will be replaced and the school fined.

Friday, March 26 

ASYNC finals are released at 8:00 AM, due back Saturday at noon. 

If a judge has not started their ballot by 10:30 AM on Saturday, they will be replaced and the school fined.
